Lent 1 – In the wilderness – Mark 1: 9-15

As we begin Lent, the 40 days before Easter, we ponder the brief account from Mark’s Gospel of Jesus entering into the wilderness.  It is a good place to start as we head towards the cross and the place where isolation, doubt, abandonment and death are present.  It is also the place where we can ask ourselves what the wilderness means for us.
