Our passage Matthew 23: 1-12 is set amongst many saying of Jesus critical of the religious leaders. Amongst them is his confronting accusation of tying up heavy burdens that are laid upon others shoulders while failing to lift any weight at all. Reflect with me on this passage and ‘how, even today, we continue to bind up, when we are invited to lift the burdens of others… and ourselves and to share in Christ’s easy yoke.
